Trimeresurus andalasensis David, Vogel, Vijayakumar & Vidal 2006

This species belongs to the Trimeresurus borneensis-complex. According to our DNA-analysis 3 species belong to this group. The third one is Trimeresurus wiroti, which is revalidated in this article. Trimeresurus andalasensis is living in higher elevations of the north-western part of Sumatra. Nothing is known about the biology of this species. The specific nomen is the Latin genitive noun forged on Andalas, the ancient name of Sumatra.
