Trimeresurus venustus Vogel 1991
A small species of the genus Trimeresurus known from three
provinces in the South of Thailand (Krabi, Nakhon Si Thammarat and
Surat Thani). Some people have problems to tell this species apart
from Trimeresurus kanburiensis, so a team of French, German,
Belgian and Thai scientists had to write a second article on this subject.

I named this snake T. venustus
due to its grace and prettiness. These attributes are
expressed by the Latin word “venustus”.
It
is often kept in captivity but is rather sensitive. Many
die of pneumonia, even after being kept for a long time.
